Frequently Asked Questions
Clinical Use & Compatibility
What is Breezy Blue™?
Breezy Blue™ (Breezy) is a touchless whole-room disinfection system that applies aerosolized hydrogen peroxide (aHP) to disinfect hospital rooms, equipment and facilities. As demonstrated via third-party lab testing, Breezy removes greater than 99.99% of numerous pathogens, neutralizes odors, and is operated at the push of a button.
How does Breezy work?
Breezy emits a dry fog (micron-sized particles) of aHP disinfectant that fills a room and uniformly covers all surfaces—including hard-to-reach areas, equipment and fabrics—without leaving residue or moisture. Fogging cycles typically last between 30 seconds to 120 seconds, followed by a 10-minute contact time and 10 to 20 minutes of ventilation.
Within which areas of a hospital can Breezy be used?
Breezy is suitable for:
Physical Space | Application |
Patient rooms | Terminal cleaning, particularly for enhanced disinfection after patient discharge |
Equipment rooms | Deep disinfection of multiple pieces of equipment during one-hour aHP cycle |
ORs, Emergency Departments, PACUs, Sterile Processing Departments | Deep disinfection of entire space during regular decontamination cycles when unoccupied |
Restrooms, waiting rooms, break rooms and other shared spaces | As part of regular cleaning, when closed |
Ambulances and mobile care units | Rapid disinfection between transport patients or between shifts |
Can Breezy be used during clinical downtime or within a short turnover window?
Yes. Most spaces are ready for reentry within 20 to 30 minutes (including 10 minutes of fogging contact time and 10 to 20 minutes of ventilation).
Can Breezy be used in occupied areas?
No. Breezy should not be used in actively occupied spaces. It is designed for use between patients, during shift changes, or when spaces are unoccupied.
Is Breezy safe to use around electronics and medical equipment?
Yes. The dry fog is non-corrosive, leaves no residue, and is safe around monitors, electronics, and medical equipment.
What PPE is required during fogging?
No PPE is required while fogging if you remain outside the room. If reentering within 10 minutes after fogging, wear eye protection and a mask.

Why it matters:
Manual cleaning is vulnerable to human error and rarely reaches >90% coverage. UV systems are limited to line-of-sight and require multiple cycles to compensate for shadowed zones. In contrast, Breezy’s aHP fog uniformly fills the space, reaching difficult areas, while Breezy Cloud™ validates performance with automated logs. Peer-reviewed studies show that aHP systems like Breezy Blue™ reduce infections such as C. difficile and SARS-CoV-2 by >99.99%
Efficacy, Compliance & Safety
What chemicals can be used within Breezy Blue™?
Breezy BioCare™ RTU and Breezy BioPure™ RTU. Both are available from Breezy Med or your local distributor.
What pathogens does Breezy BioCare™ RTU kill?
Breezy BioCare™ RTU is registered with the EPA (Reg. No. 90748-1) and has been tested in a third-party laboratory adhering to the Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) regulations. The following pathogens were tested and are registered with the EPA for these specific test conditions.
• Staphylococcus aureus, MRSA
• Norovirus, Rhinovirus, Feline Calicivirus, RSV
• H1N1, Human Coronavirus
• Pseudomonas, Salmonella, E. coli, Listeria
• Trichophyton mentagrophytes (ringworm)
Is Breezy effective against COVID-19, emerging pathogens, or measles?
Yes. Breezy BioCare™ RTU is on the EPA’s List N (COVID-19) and List Q (Emerging Viral Pathogens). It meets efficacy requirements for Tier 1–3 pathogens like SARS-CoV-2, Ebola, and Monkeypox. Measles is not a particularly challenging virus to kill. It is a very reasonable assumption that Breezy BioCare™ would kill the measles virus, using Rhinovirus and Feline Calicivirus as reference pathogens.
What clinical studies have been done?
Aerosolized hydrogen peroxide (aHP) is a common method of disinfection within a healthcare environment. There are many published studies on the benefits of aHP to combat disease spread in various hospital applications. Here are two AIJC studies as examples:
• Evaluation of aHP disinfection for the reduction of C. difficile hospital infection rates
• Disinfecting noncritical medical equipment using aHP
A new study on the use of Breezy Blue™ for regular deep disinfection at Presbyterian Santa Fe Medical Center will be published soon. Jessi Workman, the Chief Nursing Executive at the hospital explained “We have been using Breezy Blue as part of our disinfection protocols within our operating rooms for nearly two years. Our results have been outstanding, and we are now adding Breezy Blue to other departments.”
How is disinfection effectiveness verified within my hospital?
During deployment at your hospital, we use electrochemical sensors to validate aHP dosages for >99.99% germicidal efficacy that correlate to Bacillus Atrophaeus Biological Indicator (BI) testing and third-party laboratory testing. And hospitals can monitor Breezy Blue™ usage and efficacy logs using the Breezy Cloud dashboards at any time.
Does Breezy leave residue, odors, or damage surfaces?
No. Breezy's fog does not wet surfaces, damage electronics, nor interact with floor cleaners. Breezy BioCare™ RTU is fragrance-free and acts as a true deodorizer by killing odor-causing bacteria.
Is Breezy BioCare™ RTU safe, green, and compliant?
Yes. It is:
• EPA registered (Reg. No. 90748-1)
• Practically non-toxic (CAT IV under 40 CFR 156.62)
